IAPO's Global Patients Congress

A unique event for leading patient advocates from around the world

In 2005 IAPO held its first Global Patients Congress in London, United Kingdom.  This was followed by our 2006 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.  IAPO is pleased to announce that we are holding the next Congress in Budapest, Hungary between 20 & 22 February 2008.  To read more about the programme for the next Global Patients Congress, please click here. As we develop another exciting event, we welcome the involvement of our members, partners and supporters. The 2006 Congress brought together over 120 patient leaders from around the world, alongside healthcare representatives including the global health professionals associations and the World Health Organization (WHO), to work together to develop strategies to bring patients to the centre of healthcare systems. Britt Wendelboe (Danish Society for Patient Safety), Dr Kgosi Letlape (President of the World Medical Association representing the WHPA), Yves Juillet (Representative for the IFPMA), Margaret Murphy (Patient Advocate), Martin Fletcher (Technical Officer, World Alliance for Patient Safety, WHO) and Stephen McMahon (IAPO Board Member and Chairman of the Irish Patients Association) during the Patient Safety plenary session.
