In May 2010 a group of IAPO Members held a meeting for patient groups in Uganda to follow up from the 4th Global Patients Congress in Istanbul in February this year. The meeting was an important opportunity for IAPO Members who were unable to attend the meeting to hear about important issues that were highlighted at the Congress and to discuss common issues within the group. This meeting is an excellent example of how patient groups are working together across disease areas to promote patient-centred healthcare and to gain better recognition of the issues that affect them all.
