Next Steps for IAPO
This was the second IAPO regional meeting in Latin America and its aim was to develop a clear action plan for the coming years in order to build the capacity of patients’ organizations and to strengthen the network in the region. IAPO will continue to work with members in the region to develop an action plan of activities. More specifically, IAPO will:

• Actively look for opportunities to build the capacity of patients’ organizations in Latin America, particularly in the areas of fundraising, advocacy, communications and legislation
• Investigate and encourage the use of online tools to increase communications and sharing of experiences and best practices
• Work with volunteers and members in the region to translate key documents into Spanish
• Coordinate a steering group of members from the region who will lead on regional activities
